ASFM Technology Integration Vision

ASFM aims to develop responsible global citizens equipped with the critical thinking skills, and the technological literacy necessary (including appropriate ethical use) to participate in the worldwide community of learners. We seek to engage students in their media rich, mobile lifestyles to produce, create, collaborate, share, publish and distribute content (not just consume content). We wish to become an innovative leader, empowering students and teachers through progressive access to technology.

  • Develop a systematic focus on the integration and infusion of learning and teaching technologies in a relevant and applied curriculum

  • Create technology-mediated learning experiences and assessment strategies that guide students to the highest order of thinking, creativity, collaboration, and publication.

  • Bridge the gap between institutional technology and consumer functionality as we investigate redefined approaches to applying student learning (contextual learning designed to apply 21st century skills--innovation, creativity, critical thinking problem solving, media literacy, self-direction, adaptability, accountability, collaboration)

  • Ensure regular and ready access to instructional technology (simple and failsafe access to internet, mobile access, social networking, youtube, web2.0 applications, etc.)

  • Develop standard operating procedures/principles outlining social responsibility for teachers, parents and students
